Privacy Policy
Last updated: 17 August 2026
This policy explains what we do with your personal information when you use this website or buy from us. We are That Party Place Ltd, registered in Scotland under company number SC781692, of 85 Bogmoor Road, Shieldhall, Glasgow G51 4FH. For the purposes of UK data protection law we are the data controller for the information described here.
What we collect
- When you order: your name, delivery and billing address, email address and telephone number, and what you bought.
- When you pay: your payment is handled by our payment providers. We receive confirmation that payment succeeded and the last four digits and card type. We never see or store your full card number.
- When you sign up to emails: your email address.
- When you contact us: whatever you choose to tell us, and our reply.
- Automatically: your IP address, device and browser, and how you moved around the site.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
- To take and fulfil your order — necessary to perform our contract with you.
- To handle returns, refunds and questions — necessary to perform our contract, and our legitimate interest in running the shop properly.
- To keep accounting and tax records — a legal obligation.
- To send marketing emails — only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email.
- To keep the site working, secure and free of fraud — our legitimate interest.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the businesses that make the shop work:
- Shopify, who host this store and process orders on our behalf.
- Payment providers, who take payment securely.
- Delivery companies, who need your name, address and often a contact number in order to deliver.
- Our email provider, if you have signed up to marketing.
- Professional advisers and authorities, where the law requires it.
Where your information is held
Some of these providers hold data outside the United Kingdom. Where they do, appropriate safeguards are in place to protect it to UK standards.
How long we keep it
Order and transaction records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires. Marketing consent is kept until you withdraw it. Enquiries are kept only as long as needed to deal with them and any follow-up.
Cookies
This site uses cookies to keep your basket working, remember your preferences, and understand how the site is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though blocking some of them will stop parts of the site working — the basket in particular.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask us for a copy of your information, to correct it, to have it deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to have it transferred elsewhere. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time.
To exercise any of these, email us at sales@thatpartyplace.co.uk. We will respond within one month.
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk if you are unhappy with how we have handled your information. We would appreciate the chance to put it right first.
Children
This site is not intended for children, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. Orders should be placed by someone aged 18 or over.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your information we will update this page and the date at the top. Where the change is significant we will tell you directly.
