These terms apply when you buy from this website. Please read them before ordering. Nothing here affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

Placing an order

Adding items to your basket and paying is an offer to buy. A contract is formed when we send you an email confirming that your order has been dispatched, not when you place it.

If an item turns out to be unavailable, or has been priced wrongly, we may decline the order and will refund you in full. We will always tell you if this happens.

Prices and payment

Prices are in pounds sterling and include VAT where it applies. Delivery is charged separately and is shown at checkout before you pay.

Payment is taken at the time you order. We accept the payment methods shown at the foot of this site.

Delivery

We deliver within the United Kingdom only. Delivery charges, dispatch times and our collection service are set out on our Delivery and Collection Info page.

Delivery estimates are estimates. Where delivery is delayed by something outside our control we will tell you as soon as we can.

Your right to cancel

If you are a consumer, you may cancel your order for any reason within 14 days of receiving it, and you then have a further 14 days to return the goods. You do not need to give a reason.

To cancel, tell us in writing at sales@thatpartyplace.co.uk. We will refund what you paid, including standard delivery, within 14 days of receiving the goods back.

The right to cancel does not apply to sealed goods that are not suitable for return once unsealed for reasons of health or hygiene — which for us means contact lenses, cosmetics and makeup, false eyelashes, wigs and facial hair, and hosiery. Nor does it apply to goods made or personalised to your specification.

Goods returned should be in the condition you received them. We may reduce a refund to reflect handling beyond what is needed to examine the item, in the same way you would in a shop.

Our returns policy

Separately from the legal right above, we accept returns within 30 days, free of charge, on unused items in their original condition and packaging. The hygiene exclusions above still apply.

Faulty or misdescribed goods

If something is faulty, not as described, or not fit for purpose, you have rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 that go beyond our returns policy. Contact us and we will put it right.

Costumes and safety

Fancy dress costumes are novelty garments, not protective clothing or nightwear. Keep them away from naked flames, candles, pumpkin lanterns and heat sources, and supervise children wearing them.

Our liability

We are responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, or for business losses.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of Scotland, and disputes may be raised in the Scottish courts. If you live elsewhere in the United Kingdom you may instead raise proceedings in your own jurisdiction.
